Ingredients

  • 2 Packages Harvest Fresh Zucchini Veggie Sheets
  • ½ Cup Flour, coating
  • 12 Slices, Black Forest Ham
  • 1 Jar, Fire Roasted Peppers, drained, Sliced halves
  • 1 Cup Gruyere, Shredded
  • 12 Slices Mozzarella, Slices
  • 10 Fresh Basil leaves
  • Oil, frying

White sauce

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ Large Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ Cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk (2%), room temperature
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ Tsp. Rosemary, finely chopped
  • ¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

What You Need

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees, lightly coat rectangular baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Coat Zucchini Sheets in flour, fry in a skillet with oil on low- medium heat, sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Cream Sauce: In a large pot, add butter, once melted add onion sauté, until translucent, sauté garlic until fragrant, add flour, whisk until fully combined, reducing heat to medium low, slowly adding milk, constantly mixing, add parmesan cheese, whisk until sauce thickens, and becomes smooth and creamy. Add nutmeg, rosemary, salt, and pepper, whisk until all combined. Remove from heat.
  4. Assembly: In baking dish, layer bottom with cream sauce, until fully covered, add floured Zucchini Sheets, add black forest ham, mozzarella slices, fresh basil, roasted peppers, repeat for second layer. Finish and top with Gruyere cheese. Cover with Foil.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, remove foil and broil for 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden brown. Remove from oven, lightly cool, and ready to serve.
